My Heros Slide Show

This is to remind everyone to be thankful for the lives they have; the comfort and freedom they enjoy in our country. To remember those who chose a higher calling; to serve a greater purpose. If the Lord had dealt you a different hand in life, you could have very well been on this roster. Believe that for every American that does not join; does not serve; someone else takes their place. That someone could be a total stranger, or a neighbor, or a loved one. But know this...that it was someones brother, sister, son or daughter; someones mother or their father, a wife, a husband. Remember it could have been you the next time you feel sorry for yourself; and be thankful. Know there are scars on the inside that do not show, and are just as disabling as the wounds of the flesh. Never pass by the chance to thank those who gave in your place, and realize the pain they carry on the inside may be unknown to you. Never forget those who suffered so you did not have too, and that they leave their memories here at home in the hearts of those who knew them and loved them, and that they are not simply faces and names on a list. they are you, and I.

"From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in England now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."
William Shakespeare, St. Crispen's Day Speech HENRY V C. 1599

The Fallen Of The 4th Battalion 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division....My Brothers. When life seems to stressful, you feel lost inside, and are caught up with the troubles of life in America, stop, breath....and remember those who no longer feel the struggles that are a part of everyday life, and their families and the fellow brothers and sisters in uniform, and say a prayer of hope. "Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed, because the Lord holds his hand." PSALM 37:24 ..

"And so she walked out of our lives....forever." I never pictured the day would come where you would be leaving without me....Later Tater

You could always stay....If not…Colorado will be here waiting for you should you decide to return…and so will I....It's not going anywhere....And neither am I. I miss you…I love you….and I am praying for you. Go...Chase that dream girl.....Follow your heart…The sun will rise for you at least one more day….and every night you say that…is one day closer until I see you again. I'll be here keeping watch over your dream for you until you return to chase it again. With ever growing anticipation I will wait….happy to see again and return it to its dreamer. Those mountains in your rearview mirror will keep for you in their high….mist covered valleys this dream of yours as well...along with my heart…should you return and find my soul has moved on. For though the Lord may have my soul, my heart belongs to these mountains….and to you. If you look every morning….just before the sun breaks the horizon….and every evening….as it goes to bed….there among the mist….and the wind in the pines….high on our mountain….if you are quiet…you will see me….I will wait always….and look for you. Remember this....a dream is what YOU make of it….and is only as sweet as the last time you lived it…the last time you felt it in your soul…. and the last time you slept under it's stars. Sleep tight....and keep on dreaming…cause hearts like yours are why Colorado is here. It's never good-bye… for either here or there….this world or the next....whether in dreams or in love…if you have faith…it's only "See you later....when we're together again....some day" Later Tater............

  1. Mike,
You are a very gifted writer. Obviously very deep and thought out.

Dw and I and Autumn were in ABQ yesterday and we came to the VA. We tried to see you but were not allowed. We asked if she could just call your room and tell you we were there. She denied us. We will be coming to ABQ soon again. We would love to visit if you ever feel up to it.

When leaving we stood and pointed our hands toward the building and prayed for you - somewhere up there. Asking Jehovah Rapha to heal your body.

We thank you for your service to our great nation.

You are loved! Linn and Dw
